If you get in at the beginning... Then you can have Quadway hoops complete with QuadSockets

QuadSockets go into the base of the lawns when the lawns are created. They provide all the benefits of the hoops.

.SO they can be used on permanent bowling greens.

If you want even more stability then press the skinny "tent pegs" through the holes in the feet...Put them in at about 45 degrees down into the sand substrate

PERMANENT lawns ???

Lawns that are designed for bowling are often REALLY solid.. Not much give for Jump shots.. Oh dear.....

If these lawns are the only option.... then that's just the way it is..

You will have to use surface hoops as above.

Planning PERMANENT lawns ???

Thankfully... Lawns designed for Croquet have an "underlay"  and a "turf" length that provides a more "normal" feel for play.

If you are lucky enough to be in at the planning stage.... THEN you can have our 3* Quadway Sockets installed when the lawns are laid.

3* Quadway Sockets use normal Quadway hoops and that way you have all the Quadway benefits..

These 3* Quadway Sockets  are set in concrete just below the lawn surface and you will use the middle pair of sockets (for several years) until normal wear and tear of the surface gives you "rabbit runs" ...

THEN you can swap to the left hand pair of sockets .......

AND years later swap to the right hand pair  ... 3* Quadway Sockets

"The Creator" in Her wisdom made our hands to grip an oval shape.. Many tools that have evolved over thousands of years are shaped to make best use of that.

E.G. A carpenter's hammer. Sledge hammer handle...... the common theme is the oval shape that gets thicker towards the end of the tool. The thickening at the end means that, if the tool starts to slip, then the thickening handle will re-set the grip... Well done.

Previously, two of my handles  had those properties..

HammerGrip... perfect for the top hand and bottom hand "goes along for the ride"

SideFlat .... Good for Standard and Irish.. fingertips lie on the flats

TaperedOval Grip combines the benefits of BOTH..

The extended oval shape means that there is an place for your bottom hand AND those previous flat sides sharp corners are gone.

T Mushrooms    IF you play with:-

Then you will love the T-Mushroom  This is an add-on to the top of your mallet and it takes all the strain out of having to GRIP (strangle) the handle.

The  Mushroom allows the top of your hand to nestle at the top of the handle without any effort.

The foam is soft-ish and is a closed cell. Meaning that it won't absorb water or sunscreen. SO if it gets a bit grubby from sunscreen... you just give it a wash in the kitchen sink. It is the same foam as the handles but a softer grade.

Tip.. Just like the heads... you can mix'n match your QuickLock handles. Have your favourite upper then swap to a Typhoon lower for G.C. and then back to a CRigid or CarbonF for A.C.

Normal Lowers have full length foam protection and the Typhoon is naked.

QuickLock ComboKey  improved

The QuickLock handles have been very successful and the new ComboKey has both Allen keys for the QL and the larger screw that holds the Head~Handle together. Both now live in a common metal tube, and they come with a carabina so you can clip it to your mallet bag.

Hoop Setting 2.

Digital Caliper

• For confirming hoop~to~hoop clearance/s .
• With the Australian balls, 93mm is pretty much the sweet spot.
• Combine these with the Digital Ball Gauge  to find the largest ball easily.
• Many tournaments specify "Largest Ball + 1/64" ( or 1/32)". That would be easy if balls were spherical. At this point in time I've never found a ball to be (totally) spherical.
•  I have about 12 digital calipers/gauges in Terminator Central and this one is the best. They are very good price performance) and beautifully made in metal not plastic.
